Robert "Bob" Shaw

Robert “Bob” Shaw, age 89, of Paducah, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Bob was born in Paducah on December 5, 1933 to William Henry Shaw and Lona Viola Speakman Shaw.  He was a 1953 graduate of Augusta Tilghman High School. Bob retired from Air Products as an electrician. For almost 20 years, Bob was a Kentucky and Tennessee State Representative for the Clan Shaw Society at Scottish Festivals. . He was an avid storyteller and would tell a story to anyone that would listen. Bob enjoyed bird hunting more than deer but loved the social connection with friends at deer camp. Bob loved his dogs and cats and was the biggest fan of UK Basketball.  More than anything, Bob loved his family.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father and Bob to his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Brooking Shaw; one daughter, Jennifer “Jenny” Johnson (Kelly) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; two sons, Daniel Shaw (Sumer) of Jupiter, Florida, Joe Shaw (Stephanie) of Paducah; three grandchildren, Alex Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee, Andrew Johnson of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Dan “Dee” Shaw, Jr. of Jupiter, Florida.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Connie Heater; two brothers, James Shaw and William Shaw, along with his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Connor Williams officiating.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
