Robert Wilson "Kirk" Garey

Robert Wilson Kirk Garey passed away on December 2, 2022, at his home in Paducah, KY. Kirk, as he was known, born on August 26, 1986, in Paducah, was the son of Frances Elizabeth (Beth) Kirk Garey and Robert Wilson Garey of Paducah and Santa Rosa Beach, FL.

Kirk was a graduate of St. Mary High School and Murray State University, where he received his BA in accounting. He went on to work as an accountant at Cornman, Bryan, Watts & Elliott, CPAs, in Mayfield.

Kirk loved his family and especially his nieces and nephews – Ellie Kate and McCoy Gregory of Paducah and Mollie and Miles Owen of Lexington. They were enthralled by their uncle and considered him their personal technology guru, the king of Pokemon, and the champion of the Big Nerf Gun Wars they frequently engaged in.

More than anything, Kirk enjoyed spending time with his father – playing soccer while his dad coached when he was younger and watching UK basketball games together. His love for good home-cooked food came from the many meals made by his mother that brought the family together.

In addition to his parents and nieces and nephews, Kirk is survived by his sisters, Katherine Garey Gregory, and her husband, Burton Gregory, of Paducah, and Zoe Garey Owen and her husband Tommy Owen, of Lexington.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
