Ronald Alexander Lane, a lifelong resident of Lone Oak, passed away Thursday evening, August 13, 2026 at Parkview Nursing & Convalescent Center.

He was 90 years old. Ronnie was born April 30, 1936 to the late Raymond and Thelma Creason Lane. He was reared in Lone Oak, and was a proud graduate of Lone Oak High School. He served his country for four years in the US Air Force, and often spoke of the many places he was able to see during his time of service, particularly of experiencing tulips in Amsterdam.

Following his discharge from the USAF, Ronnie became an electrical apprentice along with his brother Larry. This began a long career as Journeyman Wiremen, where the two became known as “Right Lane” and “Left Lane”, Ronnie being the “Right” of the Lanes. He was a member of IBEW Local 816 for more than 60 years, and a member of VFW Post 1191.

Ronnie married his wife, the former Patricia Devine, in 1962. They loved cross country road trips, taking their son Keith a number of times in their green Econoline van to Pat’s hometown of Portland, Oregon via Route 66. Ronnie loved marching in Veterans Day and Labor Day parades, and was honored to participate in the 21 gun salute for many local veterans’ funerals. Besides being a son, brother, husband, father and uncle, Ronnie was a patriot who loved his country deeply. He was a gentle giant and a quiet presence, and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

Ronnie is survived by his brother, RT Lane Jr. and his wife Norma, nephews Ricky Lane and Kyle Long, nieces Lynette Farmer, Billie Larrison, Gayla Lane, Kim Brown and Kendra Douros, as well as a number of great nieces & nephews. His great nephew Bryan Farmer took extraordinary care of him as his health declined. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Pat Lane, his son Keith Allen Lane, his sisters Freda Lane and Nancy Long, brothers James Lane and Larry Lane, niece Beverly Lane and nephews Gary Don Lane and Barry Lane.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time of 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
