Roy Parvin

Roy Lee Parvin, passed away on September 13, 2026, in Paducah, Kentucky, at the age of 79.

He was born on November 8, 1946, in Blountsville, Alabama. Roy spent his working years in the communications business, where he was employed by AT&T.  He approached his work with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility, earning the respect of those who knew him professionally. Roy’s was of Baptist faith.
 
Outside of work, Roy enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a very avid golfer and found great joy in spending time on the course. Roy was also a devoted Alabama fan, and his loyalty to the Crimson Tide never wavered.
 
Roy Is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cheryl Parker Parvin of Paducah, Kentucky; two daughters, Susan Parvin (Melissa) of Alabaster, Alabama and Amy Wood (Jonathan) of Birmingham, Alabama; a son, Chad Vaughn (Stacy) of Smithland, Kentucky; two brothers, Bill Parvin (Charotte) of Alabaster, Alabama and Jimmy Scoggins (Mindy) of Alabaster, Alabama; six grandchildren, Bailey Vaughn, McKayla Harris, Abby Wood, Mary Wood, Kaylee Wood and Sam Wood; and three great-grandchildren, Krewson, Ozzy, and Sally.
 
Roy was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jim Scoggins, and his mother, Claire Scoggins.
 
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. John Smithmier officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
 
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the service hour of 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
