Rudy "Honey" Hobbs passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the age of 79.

Honey was born on May 27, 1946, to the late George Damon Hobbs and Beulah Betty Hardin Hobbs in Paducah, Kentucky.

Honey began his career as a welder, showing an incredible aptitude for the craft. His skills were not only in the precision of his work but also in his ability to lead and inspire others. His colleagues at Paducah Marine Ways deeply respected him as he rose to the position of supervisor, a role he carried out with dedication until his retirement. Beyond his professional life, Honey was a longstanding and active member of Abundant Life Church.

He was an exceptional man whose life was marked by hard work, deep love, and an unshakable devotion to his family. As the heart of his home, he was a protector, encourager, and source of strength for all who knew him. He cherished his wife, children, and grandchildren with a rare and wholehearted love, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering devotion that will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him.

Honey is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Lee Watson Hobbs; two daughters, Carrie Henson and her husband, Chris of Paducah, and Kim Skinner and her husband, Donnie of Kevil; a son, Rudy Hobbs Jr. and his wife, Jana of Ledbetter; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Scott (Jeremy), Lauren Hatfield (Azmon), Kelsee Henson, Andrew Hobbs (Stephanie), Ethan Hobbs (Tia), Dalton Skinner and Mya Skinner; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Marvin Hobbs and his wife, Tammy of Paducah.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Devin Hatfield; three sisters, Beulah Witson, Marie McManus, and Nellie Dawes;  four brothers, James Hobbs, Charles Hobbs, George Hobbs, and William Hobbs; and his parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Pastor Joel Harper officiating.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the service hour of 1:00 pm on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
