Wayne Solomon, 81, of Paducah, passed away at 7:30 pm on Thursday, September 25 at The Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center.

Born to Willie and Sarah Almeta Culp Solomon on November 30, 1943 in Marshall County, KY.  Wayne graduated from North Marshall High School and then served in the Army as a helicopter mechanic during the Vietnam war.  After his military service, he worked for CCMA as a crane operator for many years until his retirement.

On February 16, 1968 Wayne married Patricia Ann Rudolph.  They had 57 years of marriage where they managed to build twelve houses together with Wayne’s remarkable skill as a carpenter to guide them.   In addition to his love of carpentry, Wayne enjoyed reading and volunteering with Carpenters for Christ.  He was a faithful Christian and was a member of Twelve Oaks Baptist Church.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Solomon and his sister, Marjorie King of Sharpe and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Dorothy Watkins, Kathleen Hausman, Willie May Myers, Mildred Watkins and brother, Charlie Ray Solomon.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Milner and Orr of Paducah.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm, with the funeral service at noon.  Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery in Marshall County, KY.

Wayne courageously and unceasingly battled lymphoma for 14 years.  If you wish to make a donation in his memory, please do so to the American Cancer Society or the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center of Paducah.
