Seleta Cope Adlich, age 74, passed away on November 2, 2026, at her residence. She was born on February 12, 1952, in Clinton, Kentucky, to Loyse Monroe Cope and Betty Sue Crowe Cope. Seleta was deeply loved by her family and friends, and she will be missed by many.
Seleta graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Education, and she carried that calling into her work with children for several years before opening her own business, Attic Treasures. Her years in child care reflected her patient, nurturing spirit, and her decision to build her own business showed both her determination and her creativity. What began as an antique shop became something far greater in the lives of many who knew her.
Seleta owned Attic Treasures Antique Shop, which became much more than a place to find unique and interesting items. It became a gathering place where friendships were formed, stories were shared, and lasting connections were made. Her shop reflected her personality and her gift for making others feel welcome. She had a special way of turning everyday moments into meaningful ones, and many will remember the comfort and joy of spending time with her there.
While at Murray State, Seleta proudly joined Alpha Sigma Alpha, and her sorority held a special place in her heart throughout her life. She valued the friendships and memories she made there, and she carried that sense of sisterhood with her always. She was also a member of First Christian Church of Paducah, where her faith and fellowship were an important part of her life.
She also volunteered and helped with Starfish Orphan Ministry, offering her time and compassion to a cause that mattered deeply to her. Seleta had a generous heart and a sincere desire to help others, and she gave of herself in quiet but meaningful ways. Her life was enriched by service, and she touched many lives through her kindness and care.
Seleta loved to travel and was always so full of life. She embraced each day with energy, curiosity, and a bright spirit that lifted those around her. She also made it a point to send handwritten letters or cards for holidays, birthdays, and any special occasion, a thoughtful habit that reflected how deeply she cared for the people in her life. Her words, like her presence, brought encouragement and joy.
Seleta is survived by her husband of 52 years, Greg Adlich; two sons, Brian Adlich of Memphis, Tennessee, and Brandon Adlich (Alia) and children of Richmond, Virginia; one brother, Mark Cope (Nora) of Paducah; one sister-in-law, Connie Ellison of Murray; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
