Sherry Ann Smith, 71, of Clinton, Kentucky, comfortably entered into an eternal slumber at her daughter's residence on Thursday, June 5, 2025.

She was born on August 19, 1953, in Humbolt, Tennessee, to the late Gerald F. and Shirley Daniels Smith.

Being the eldest born daughter, Sherry took on many motherly duties and responsibilities. Even at a young age, her resistance or hesitation to do so was almost non-existent. Her nurturing disposition seemed to be somewhat of a beacon for many during her time on earth.

She was a familiar face to many that attended TOPS in Clinton as well as every bingo hall in Western Kentucky.
It may come as a surprise to many, due to her kind demeanor and small stature, that she was a bartender in Fulton, Kentucky during the 80's.

She was a mother to one, Aunt Sherry to many, a friend to all, and Nanny to her favorites.

She loved the color purple, Christmas Eve, anything that sparkled, Cher, and sugar on her strawberries.

Sherry leaves behind her most treasured commodities; a daughter, Amy York of Clinton, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Britina Edwards (Andrew Anderson) of Hickman, Kentucky and Jace (Sofia) York of Vine Grove, Kentucky; four great-grandchildren, Raelyn Edwards, Layton Edwards, August Anderson, and Strality York & her beloved cat; Cathy.

Also left with grief are her step-mother, Sam Smith of Morton, Illinois; four sisters, Patsy Danley of Sunnyland, Illinois, Ruth (Russ) Rohn of Morton, Illinois, Sandra Smith of Clinton, Kentucky, and Tammy Smith of Woodland Mills, Tennessee; and two brothers, Doug (Mary) Smith of Morton, Illinois and Samuel Smith of Morton, Illinois.

Waiting for her, just beyond this earthly realm, she was reunited with a grandson, Justin Edwards; five sisters, Jenny Smith, Ginger Smith, Connie Smith, JoAnn Fuchs, and Brenda Redden; a brother, Larry Smith; her parents and step father; Douglas "Bucky" Smith, as well as many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with Bro. David Sphinx officiating. Burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the service hour of 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.
