Steve Parrish, 65, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Steve was born on August 24, 1960, in Paducah, Kentucky.
A 1978 graduate of St. Mary High School, Steve went straight to work after graduation. He began his career at Kmart, where he worked for 21 years, earning his way to the position of assistant manager through his dedication and strong work ethic. He later opened his own lawn care business, Precision Cut Lawn Care, where he became well known for his hard work, dependability, and pride in every job he completed.
Steve had a passion for motorcycles. He worked hard and saved to purchase his first motorcycle at just 16 years old. That first ride sparked a lifelong passion for what he called “wind therapy,” his favorite way to relax, clear his mind, and find peace. He was an avid pool player with an unforgettable sense of humor and a youthful spirit that made everyone around him feel comfortable, like they’d known him forever.
Steve was a kind and selfless man who lived a life rooted in faith and honesty. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it and believed in doing right by others. His quiet strength, generous heart, and unwavering character left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He also had a soft spot for his beloved Goldendoodle, Emme, who Steve would affectionately describe as his “Double Doodle.” She gives the very best hugs and high-fives, just like her daddy taught her. Above all else, Steve cherished his family and found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. He built a special bond with each of them and gave them their own special nicknames, Rooster, Cruzer, Chubs, Sista B, Doober, and Baby Chubs, a reflection of the special relationship he shared with them.
Steve is survived by his wife, Carol Parrish of Paducah, Kentucky, with whom he shared a loving marriage for 36 years; his mother, Margaret Parrish of Paducah, Kentucky; three daughters, Robin (Brian) Neblett of Ledbetter, Kentucky, Shae Lawrence of Paducah, Kentucky, and Angel Lawrence of Paducah, Kentucky; his uncle, David Maness of Henderson, Tennessee; his cherished grandchildren, Katie Neblett, Cruz Lawrence-Mayes, Shaelyn Tyler, Breia Lawrence-Mayes, and Kobe Lawrence-Mayes; and his great-granddaughter, Miss Sevyn Everett.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Parrish, and his brother, Michael Parrish.
