Anthony Michael “Tony” Mountjoy, 67, was born on July 1, 1958, in San Diego, California, and passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in Paducah, Kentucky, at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital.

At the age of 18, he began working at Wilbert Vault Company, where he started a lifelong pattern of steady labor and dedication. Over the years, he also worked as a deckhand on a towboat and later retired from his career as a truck driver. Tony attended Gospel Mission Worship Center, where his faith was an important part of his life. Outside of work, Tony found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. He loved antique cars and appreciated the history and craftsmanship they represented. He also loved horses and enjoyed the beauty and spirit they brought to life, but no animal compared to his dog, Tilly, whom he loved dearly. Music was another of his great pleasures, and he loved to sing. Above all else, Tony loved his family. He especially cherished his grandchildren, who brought him great pride and joy. He treasured time spent with them and found deep happiness in being part of their lives.

Tony is survived by three daughters, Candy (Curtis) Turner of Benton, Kentucky, Melissa (Sam) Roberts of Reidland, Kentucky, and Serena Carr of Philippi, West Virginia; a son, Darren Mountjoy of Mayfield, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren, Kaine Brooks, Jaida Holbrook, Jasmine Graves, Raeqwon Thomas, Kasey Brooks, Davyonne Thomas, Yuna Holland, Elam Carr, Kairi Holland, Rico Mountjoy, and Emitt Mountjoy; seven great grandchildren; his girlfriend, Stephanie Goldsberry; and a brother, George (Tamara) Mountjoy of Arkansas.
