Wayne L. Myers Sr., 71 of Kevil, KY, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Mercy Health Lourdes in Paducah, KY. He was born on January 6, 1954, in Paducah, Kentucky, to the late George H. and Lillie Mae Lampley Myers.
Wayne answered the call of duty and served his country with honor in the United States Air Force. His time in the service instilled in him a deep sense of patriotism, which he carried with him throughout his life, remaining an active member of the American Legion. Wayne retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority. Wayne also shared his expertise in computers during his time at Jackson Hewitt.
Wayne was a man of faith and fellowship, attending Abundant Life Pentecostal Church. He had an entrepreneurial spirit, often found buying, selling, and trading cars-a testament to his keen eye for value and his love for automobiles.
Family was the heart of Wayne's world. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, whether it was camping in the great outdoors, traveling to new and exciting places, or simply enjoying the company of his family at home. Wayne was a fan of watching the St. Louis Cardinals and also took joy in watching football with his grandson/son, Ayden. His friendly and outgoing personality made him a beloved figure among his friends and family.
Wayne is survived by his sons, James A. Myers of Paducah and Ayden B. Myers of Kevil; his grandchildren, Nicholas Myers, Peyton Myers, and Luke Myers; his three sisters, Janet Sue Housden, Carolyn Jean Myrick, and Sandra Alderice, along with several nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 51 years, Wanda Jean Blair Myers, and a son, Wayne L. Myers Jr, his three brothers, William Lee Myers, Larry Don Myers, and George H. Myers III, along with two sisters, Magdeline Marie Merrow and Mary Grace Myers.
A celebration of life for Wayne Myers, Sr. will be held at a later date.
