William Allen Mathis

William Allen Mathis, age 87, of Melber, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Providence Point.
 
William was born on April 25, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to Walter and Macie McGee Mathis. He enjoyed tending to his garden and traveling.
 
William is survived by his wife, Arlene Thompson Mathis; two daughters, Pam Miller (Gary) of Paducah, Regina Raetz (Murray) of Paducah; two sons, Chris Mathis (Rene’) of Melber, Clay Mathis of Melber; one sister, Elna Katterjohn (Charles) of Paducah; three brothers, Larry Mathis (Joyce) of Melber, Wayne Mathis (Betty) of Melber, David Mathis (Wanda) of Viola; nine grandchildren, Shannon Smith (Brent), Ryan Miller (Brittny), Blake Raetz, Krystin Hamm (Jacob), Alex Mathis, Drake Mathis (Amelia), Haley Mathis, Megan Eckelberry (Blake), Madison “Maddie” Mathis; four great-grandchildren, Jude Smith, Noah Smith, Tildie Miller, Mackenzie Jones; two sisters-in-law, Anita Mathis and Doris Mathis.
 
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Eva Candace Mathis; two brothers, Sherrell Mathis, Kenneth Mathis, along with his parents, Walter Allen Mathis and Macie Pauline McGee Mathis.
 
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Jerome Frandle, Jason McInally and Philip Farris officiating.  Burial will follow at Owens Chapel Cemetery in Melber.
 
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
