LaCenter, KY Alphonse, "Butch" Rainer, 78, passed away at his home Sunday, August 11, 2024. He was born on October 31,1945 in Silsbee, Texas to his late parents, Colonel Boswell "C.B." and Flora (Sprayberry) Rainer.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janie Rainer of LaCenter, KY; a son, William Roy Rainer (Tracy) of Eagle River, Alaska; a daughter Chyanne Rainer Stevens of LaCenter, KY; three grandchildren, Laramie Rainer, Destinie Rainer, and ShaRayna Ellington (Brian); a great grandson, Landen Rainer of Alaska; two brothers, Lester Rainer (Patty) of San Marcos, Texas and Ricky Rainer (Netta) of Lordsburg, New Mexico; brother-in-law, Roy Spinks of LaCenter. Several nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by three brothers, Calvin Bob Rainer, Robert Rainer, and Raymond Rainer: a sister, Mary McCarty and his parents.
Butch was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, served active duty in the Air Force during the Viet Nam Era; he retired after 33 years in the Army Reserves as Sargeant First Class. He returned to Kentucky and owned and operated a trucking company for several years. Butch was employed at USEC (Union Carbide) and retired after 22 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. Butch coached his son in Little League Baseball and was called dad and friend by many. He will be greatly missed.
