Bernard Truman Warren

Bernard Truman Warren, age 93, passed away at his home Sunday evening, October 30, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born February 12, 1929 to his parents Virgil Truman and Jewell Mae Pace Warren.

Truman was a member of First Baptist Church of LaCenter, where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years.  He and his wife, Imogene, were custodians of the church for twenty years.  Truman was an Air Force Veteran and served his country from 1951-1955 during the Korean Conflict as a Radio Communications Repair Technician. Following his military service, he was employed by the Ballard County Co-op Seed Cleaners in LaCenter where he retired after 35 years. Truman loved having a beautiful garden every year, from which he shared produce with family and friends.  His passion was being a Ham Radio Operator, achieving the Extra Class license which allowed him to communicate with people from all over the world.

Truman is survived by his wife of 73 years, Imogene Warren of LaCenter, KY; a son, Allan Warren and his wife Darla of Mayfield, KY; a daughter Sherri Powell and her husband Brad of Madison, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Tera (Warren) McDowell, Bryan Powell, Cory Powell, Ashley (Warren) Vaughn, Amy (Powell) Stickels, Wes Powell, Jake Powell, and Chris Powell; and nine great grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lawanda Holman, and his parents.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 5, 2022 after 11:00 a.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Brian Steward and Rev. Dennis Lawrence officiating.  Interment will follow at LaCenter Cemetery with Military Honors.
