Dorotha Alice Shelby

Kevil, KY Dorotha Alice Shelby (Dottie) passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.  She was born on July 10, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan to her late parents, Wilbur and Lavinia (Rader) Sollars.
Dottie attended Barlow Baptist Church. She was a classy lady, who always dressed nice and loved beautiful jewelry. Her family was her pride and joy, and she could always be found talking on the phone to her children. Dottie loved crafting, but specifically enjoyed working in wood, ceramics and painting. In her spare time, she would watch Hallmark movies and QVC. Her favorite movie was Somewhere in time.
She is survived by two sons, Frank Keys (Lisa) of North Port, Florida and Kevin Keys (Roberta) of Gaylord, Michigan; a daughter Sherry Taylor (Tim) of Kevil; a brother, Wilbur Sollars (Jackie) of Sebring, Florida; a sister, Judy  Materie of Allen Park, Michigan; five grandchildren, Frank Keys III, Courtney Melvin (Jeff), Kylea Hinson (Robert), Trent Taylor (Sheyann), and Shelby Taylor; three great grandchildren, Summer Keys, Olivia Bogle and Michael Bogle.
Dottie was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Shelby; a granddaughter, Amanda Keys; three sisters, Mildred Newton, Sarah Muncy, Helen Wheeler and a brother, Everett Sollars.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Tim Taylor officiating.
