Faye Ellen Colson

Faye Ellen Colson, age 90 of LaCenter, KY, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023 at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bardwell, KY.

She was born on August 16, 1932 to her parents William Herbert and Vanda Hale Deason.  Being born to share croppers, she learned the value of hard work at an early age.  She and her husband William Thomas farmed most of their life in Ballard County.  In fact, the two of them hauled the first load of lumber to Westvaco.  Faye enjoyed gardening in her flowers.  She and her husband loved to go square dancing on Saturday nights and she would always enjoy matching their outfits. You can guarantee her outfit always had some type of glitter or sparkle to it.

Faye is survived by two sons, Mike Colson (Vickie) of Barlow, KY and Terry Colson of Barlow, KY; two daughters, Shirley Grief (Randall) of Orlando, Florida and Shiela Blankenship (Don) of Barlow, KY; eight grandchildren, Lisa Brown, Larry Colson, Crystal Swinford, Melissa Litchfield, Jessica Owsley, Pamela Klaproth, Tristan Holdman, and Matthew Holdman; thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Colson; two brothers Cuethin Deason, and Bill Deason; a daughter, Sudie Holdman.

Visitation will be Thursday February 9, 2023 after 11:00 a.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY with the Rev. Ryan Hedrick officiating. 

Interment will follow at LaCenter Cemetery.
