Kevil, KY - Thomas "Tommy" D. Norment, age 78, passed away at Lourdes Hospital on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. He was born on September 4, 1946, to his late parents; Thomas and Dathel Norment.
Tommy was a devoted member and former treasurer of Grace Valley Baptist Church of Kevil. He retired from Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant (PGDP) after 27 years of employment as a security police officer. After retirement, he worked at the Ballard County Detention Center for several years. Tommy loved anything involving the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was an expert marksman and was selected as a member of the “Governor’s Top 20” Pistol Team during his time at the PGDP. His greatest accomplishment in life was his family. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and riding the four-wheeler with his great-grandson.
He is survived by his wife, LaQuita Manley Norment of Kevil, KY; his dog, Luke; two sons, Jeff (Susan) Norment of Nashville, TN and Trenton Rodgers-Norment (Tabitha) of West Paducah, KY; one step-son Chris Jacobs (Heather) of Paducah, KY; a sister, Connie Moore (Jerry) of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren, Dakota “Koty” Jacobs (Kayla), Lee Norment (Anne), Kristin Jacobs (Casey), Xander Norment (fiancé, Danielle Poole), and Phoenix Norment; six great grandchildren, Joseph Norment, Katherine Norment, Elizabeth Norment, David Norment, Michael Norment, and Kohen Dawes.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; older sister, Anna Marie Norment; brother, Robert Earl Norment, and stepson, Archie Allen Jacobs, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 4-6 P.M. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY.
Funeral services will be held at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Glen Crowe officiating.
