Andrew Jackson Mason, Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on May 15, 2026, at Baptist Health Hospital of Paducah. Born on December 5, 1936, Andrew’s life was a tapestry rich with devotion to family, service, and community that left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

A veteran honorably discharged as a Corporal from the US Marine Corps, Andrew carried the discipline and pride of his military service into every chapter of his life. He often delighted friends and family with vivid stories of his time in uniform, narratives colored by courage and camaraderie that resonated deeply with all listeners.

Andrew’s career spanned three decades as a maintenance mechanic for the United States Enrichment Corporation, where his dedication and skill were constants amidst changing times. Beyond the workplace, he found joy in simpler pleasures — his love for golf, shooting pool, and watching classic westerns filled many afternoons with warmth and laughter. Television shows like "In the Heat of the Night" and "Family Feud" were his favorites, providing a comforting rhythm to his days. An enthusiastic participant in the lottery in both Paducah and Illinois, Andrew embraced life’s small thrills with eager spirit.

His affiliations reflected the depth of his community bonds: he was a former member of Stone Square Lodge #5, Free and Accepted Masons, Prince Hall Affiliated, Jurisdiction of Kentucky, and a steadfast competitor in the Paducah Pacesetters Bowling League. These memberships highlighted a man deeply connected to tradition, fellowship, and friendly rivalry.

Andrew’s memory will live on vividly through the family he held so dear. He is survived by His Beloved Wife, Leona Mason; His Daughter, Lizzie Cole; and His Grandson Russell Cole, all of Paducah, KY; His Two Great-Grandsons, Rajan Cole, and Malachi Cole, each carrying forward the legacy of their grandfather in both Paducah, KY and Evansville, IN. The ties of kinship extend further to His Brother-In-Law, Jessie Cole of Paducah, KY, and Sisters-In-Law, Sheila Willis of Jackson, TN, and Lisa Wilkins (Dr. Lee) of Memphis, TN, as well as Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Other Relatives who will forever cherish their bond with him.

He joins in eternal rest his parents, Andrew Jackson Mason, Sr. and Bessie Morrison Mason; his sister Virginia Ruth Mason Green; his aunt Samella Sharp; and cousin, Elizabeth Thompson, whose memories add to the profound sense of loss felt by all who loved him.
