Carolyn Jean Snipes, daughter of Robert Vincent (R.V.) Snipes and Annie Loretta Thompson Snipes was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Baptist Health Continued Care in Paducah, Kentucky.

Carolyn was born on December 6, 1963, in Ridgely, Tennessee. At the time of her passing, she had reached the age of 61 years, 7 months, and 8 days. She attended Solomon Missionary Baptist Church in Tiptonville, Tennessee, and Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah.

Carolyn was a homemaker who provided lots of love and attention to family and other children. She was the typical version of everybody’s Auntie, Granny, and Momma. She loved music and was a huge fan of Prince. When she wasn’t listening to music or loving on her grandchildren, Carolyn could usually be found doing a word search puzzle, crocheting, or shopping. She was very proud of her collection of angels and perfumes.

Preceding her in death were her parents, seven sisters, and three brothers.

Left behind to treasure precious memories of Carolyn are One Son, William Snipes; Three Daughters, Remeca Snipes, Alexandrea Roach, all of Paducah, Kentucky,  and Kareema Rainey of Miami, Florida; Two Step-Children, Chauncy Kelly of Paducah, Kentucky, and Shianta Gaines of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Twenty-three Grandchildren; Eleven Great Grandchildren; Five Sisters, Rochelle (Phillip Wille Kimble) Snipes, Bonnie R. Snipes of Tiptonville, Tennessee, Marie (Fred) Jackson of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Sarah L. (Joe) Wilkins of Paducah, Kentucky, and Lorene Snipes of Elkhart, Indiana; One Brother, Dannie T. Thompson of Elgin, Illinois; a host of Nieces, Nephews including a special Nephew, Don’Tavien Johnson, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends; along with Special Friends, Sandra Reese Lanier of Jackson, Tennessee, Tasha Burns, Je’Sus Olds, and Karen Davis, all of Paducah, Kentucky.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, July 25, 2025, 1:00 p.m. at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Alfred Anderson and Elder Milo Patterson officiating.

Family will receive friends on Friday at the church from 12 noon until the funeral hour.
