Joe Smith, Jr.

Joe Smith, Jr., age 72 of Paducah, transitioned from his earthly life on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Baptist Health Paducah.
Joe was of the Christian faith and was the president of the residence board at River Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where he resided.  He was often found praying and spreading the gospel to the residence as well as his family and friends, calling himself “Pastor Joe”.

The staff at River Haven held a mock wedding in honor of Joe and his very special friend, Teresa whom he deeply cared for while at the center.

Joe took pride in being a laborer, as he worked various jobs in maintenance around the city. When he was able, he was quite fond of going fishing, and  loved to eat, and of course talking “stuff” to everyone.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Smith, Sr. and Lisa Ann Jones Johnson and one brother, Rick Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Teresa Smith,  his only sister, Felecia Bush-Eatman both of Paducah, a host of nieces, including one special great-niece, Alisia Harris, nephews and cousins.
Joe will be remembered and continued loved by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
