He was a member of Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church where he served in the Usher Ministry. He received certification from West Kentucky Vocational College in Masonry. He was self-employed as a bricklayer and a member of International BAC Local #4 from 1977 to 2007.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Arnold Young, parents, Joseph Daniel Young and Mary Erma Henderson Young, one sister, Estella Roberta Morrison and three brothers, Julian Young, Aurthur Ray Young and James Young.
He is survived bythree daughters,Sonia (Glenn) Rouse and Tanashea (Paul) Bell, both of Paducah, Lisa (William) Wheeler of Smyrna,TN; ;one sonJoseph Young of Kansas City, MO;Seven grandchildren;Nine great-grandchildren;one sister, Sherry Wolfe-Clark of Paducah;one brother, David Allen (Wanda) Wolfe of High Point NC; several nieces, nephews, cousins.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, August 20, 2021, 12:00 noon, at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Alfred Anderson and Rev. Clayton Allen officiating. Entombment will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Friends may also call Friday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
