On Monday, July 21, 2025, Michael Anthony Cheeks passed away peacefully at Norton’s Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born June 1, 1965, to Michael Cheeks and Minnie Lee Bryant, who have both preceded him in death.
Michael was a Christian, and you would often find him reading his Bible. He was a high school graduate and previously employed in housekeeping at the Galt House in Louisville.
Michael was known for being kind-hearted and a hard worker. In fact, he was often referred to as a workaholic. He had many skills, such as being an excellent cook, with breakfast being his favorite to cook, and he tried his hand at drawing.
Michael was known for his quietness and was not big on conversation. He was a man of action, sacrificing to give to others rather than to himself.
Football was his favorite sport, and yes, he had two favorite teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Kentucky Wildcats.
Michael leaves to cherish his memories: His Daughter, Marcia Sellers, Grandson, Dy’shawn Ricks and Two Granddaughters, Sa’meirya Sellers and Ma’Kaiyah Sellers and a Bonus Daughter, Jessica Sellers, all of Paducah. He is also survived by five sisters, five brothers, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Michael will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation only will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home.
