Robert, a 1971 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School, was formerly employed in barge maintenance with Mid-South Towing.
Robert was a hard-working man, and at the end of the day, he loved coming home to his family and relaxing. A large amount of his free time was devoted to his interest in farming. He enjoyed raising small animals such as rabbits, but regretted having to use them as food. He also liked playing Bingo, which helped him relax and have fun with both family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gerald Tidwell and Randall Tidwell.
Family and friends left to mourn his passing include: His Children, Robert Boyce (Wendy) Tidwell, Jr. of Kevil, KY, Meagan (Reco) Joyce Cunningham of Paducah, KY, and Ronald (Esther) Royce Tidwell of Oblong, IL; Eleven Grandchildren, Emily Tidwell, Tyler Tidwell, and Annie Tidwell, all of Kevil, KY, Destiny (Cornelius) Curtis and Dylan (Awna) Curtis, both of Metropolis, IL, Lexie Tidwell and Chase Tidwell, both of Calvert City, KY and Piper Tidwell, Preston Tidwell, Peyton Tidwell, and Pryce Tidwell all of Oblong, IL; Three Great-Grandchildren, Kyrie Jeffery, Ruby Jeffery and Kolbie Jeffery, all of Metropolis, IL; Three Sisters, Glenda Barnett of Providence, KY, Linda Cole of Enumclaw, WA and Freda Flanders of Buckley, WA; along with Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
Memorial services have been scheduled for Wednesday, July 2, 2025, 1:00 p.m. at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home in with Paducah Pastor Linn Barnett officiating.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 noon until the service hour.
