Mr. Billy Dan Orr

Mr. Billy Dan Orr, age 87, of Murray Kentucky, passed from this life, gaining his eternal reward on Monday, May 18^th, 2026, at the Passion and Purpose Home in Murray, Kentucky.
Mr. Orr was born on December 2, 1938, in Murray, Kentucky to the late Milburn and Willie Humphreys Orr.  Billy Dan worked 62 years at Lynn Grove Feed & Seed/Workman Tobacco Seed.  His passion was being outdoors growing his small tobacco crop and a large garden.  He was regarded as the community’s “go to” source for all things tobacco farming. He was always willing to share his knowledge, wisdom and encouragement.  He was a member of Williams Chapel Church of Christ, where he served as a song leader.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Dan Orr; brother Pat Dale Orr and sister Diane Thweatt.
Survivors include his wife of 67 blissful years, Joan Butterworth Orr of Murray, Kentucky; two sons, Dale Orr and wife Joanna of Kuttawa, Kentucky, Michael Orr and wife Jeanne of Murray, Kentucky, one sister, Peggy Futrell and husband Glenn of Murray, Kentucky, one brother James Hal Orr and wife Carolyn of Murray, Kentucky.  Four grandchildren, Kenny Dale Orr, Brady Orr, Keisha Orr, Michaela Sevic and husband Ian.
 A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23^rd, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.  Officiating will be Mike Orr and David Williams.  Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be held from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday May 23^rd, 2026, at the JH Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services
