Mr. John R. Prescott

Mr. John R. Prescott, age 75, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, at his home.
          Mr. Prescott was born on November 22, 1950, in Trigg County, Kentucky to the late David Mason Prescott and Lillian C. (Hooks) Prescott. He retired from Goodyear Tire and the Calloway County School System in the Maintenance Department. Mr. Prescott was a member of Olivet Baptist Church in Paducah, Kentucky where he was a member of the Pilgrims Life Group. He was also a former member of Scott’s Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and treasurer, and was a former member of Northside Baptist Church.
          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Prescott and James Prescott; as well as one granddaughter, Aleascya Campbell.
          Survivors include his wife, Janet (Barnett) Prescott of Paducah, Kentucky; one daughter, Rebecca Oliver and husband Michael of Ledbetter, Kentucky; one son, Dr. Chris Prescott and wife Kayce of Paducah, Kentucky; two sisters, Judy Travis and husband Larry of Kuttawa, Kentucky and Marilyn Flood and husband Larry of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Morris Prescott of Murray, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Victoria Hudson and husband Tyler of Ledbetter, Kentucky, and Cammie and Cohen Prescott both of Paducah, Kentucky; as well as several nieces and nephews.
          A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Bro. Brett Miles officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
