Mr. Stan Waller

Mr. Stan Waller of Murray, Kentucky, passed away August 5, 2024, at Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House.  
 Stan was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on October 28, 1951.  He was a graduate of Murray State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science and master’s degree.   Stan was an educator and coach for 31 years.   His love for sports and competition was evident in every sport he coached.  Stan coached soccer, golf, track, football, volleyball, baseball, softball, and basketball at some point during his coaching career.  To know Stan was to know that he loved his Arkansas Razorbacks and St. Louis Cardinals. 
Stan was a dedicated husband, father, and Christian.  He was a member of Murray First United Methodist Church, and a member of the CIA Sunday School Class.  
Stan was preceded in death by his father Sam Waller, sister Debbie Stewart, and son Joe Waller.  He is survived by his wife Valerie Shelton Waller (Murray, KY); his daughter Skylar Waller (Murray, KY); son Sean and wife Shalyn (Colorado); his mother Faye Williams and husband Wesley (Arkansas); brothers Gary Waller and wife Gerri (Missouri), Sammy Waller and wife Sonya (Arkansas); brother-in law Sam Stewart (Texas); grandchildren Kaylyn, Gracelyn, Nolan, and Hannah; plus, numerous nieces and nephews. 
A memorial service for Stan will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church. Bro. Jeff Rudy and Ed Chapman will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church.
