Mr. Thomas D. Clendenen, age 78, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at his home.
Mr. Clendenen was born on September 20, 1947, in Lynch, Kentucky to the late Zenith and Elsie (Davis) Clendenen. He retired after 28 years of service as the Superintendent for the Street Department for the City of Murray. Mr. Clendenen was a member of the Calvary Temple Church and was a United States Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 10 siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn (Sirls) Clendenen of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Bradley Thomas Clendenen of Murray, Kentucky; four daughters, Tammy Powell and husband Tony of Arab, Alabama, Cindy Williams and husband Derrick of Hardin, Kentucky, Kimberly Fleming and husband Clay of Dallas, Texas, and Amy Brunger and husband Christian of Dallas, Texas; one step-son, Kenney Travis and wife Melissa of Dexter, Kentucky; one sister, Becky Highfield of Pineville, Kentucky; one brother, Robert Douglas Clendenen of Providence, Kentucky; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Bro. Richard Dale Clendenen II officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
