Mrs. Beauton Brandon, age 93, of Murray, KY, passed away peacefully on August 29th at her home.
Mrs. Brandon was born on December 21, 1932, in Calloway County, KY, to the late Huie and Myrtle Suiter. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Murray.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, G.T. Brandon; two sisters, Joette Smotherman of Frankfort, Kentucky and Evon Kelley of Murray, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Howard Brandon of Murray, as well as Earl and John Brandon of Murray and Elva Wilson and Jere Kendrick of Oklahoma.
Survivors include one daughter, Janice Brandon of Nashville, TN; one son, Roger Brandon and wife Dawn of Murray, Kentucky; grandchildren, Tracie Bishop and husband Jarrod of Cape Coral, Florida, Candice Plankers of Nashville, Tennessee; great granddaughters, Jessica Hurst of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Cori Plankers of Knoxville, Tennessee; step grandchildren, Brooke Venice and husband Joe of Graves County, Kentucky, Noel Scarbrough of Texas; step great-grandchildren, John Venice and wife Teela of Murray, Kentucky Luka Venice of Murray, Kentucky, Toby Allbritten of Murray, Kentucky, Lilly and Emma Scarbrough of Texas; one sister-in-law, Ruth Brandon; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Affectionately known as “Nanny,” she dedicated her life to her family and husband, G.T. Brandon. They spent many years on KY Lake and traveling around the country in their RV “Caravan.” She was an avid fan of the KY Wildcats and Murray State Racers. She was an enthusiastic supporter of St. Jude Hospital.
A special thanks to caregivers: Annette Owlsley, Dina Cunningham, DeeDee Cohoon, and Tammy Robinson for the loving care and devotion to Mrs. Brandon over the last two years.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the Murray City Cemetery with Bro. Kerry Lambert officiating. Entombment will follow. There will be no public visitation held prior to the graveside service.
