Mrs. Shirley Sue (Stubblefield) Garrison, age 79, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray.
          Mrs. Garrison was born on December 7, 1946, in Calloway County, Kentucky to the late Ollie Knight Stubblefield and Linda (White) Stubblefield. Mrs. Garrison retired after many years as a teacher’s assistant from East Elementary. She was a 1964 graduate of Calloway County High School. Mrs. Garrison was a member of the New Concord Church of Christ, there she taught Children’s Sunday School and worked in the nursery for many years. She was also active in several other groups and activities with the church.  
          In addition to her parents, Mrs. Garrison was preceded in death by one sister, Jaretta Stubblefield; and by one brother, Bobby C. Stubblefield.
          Mrs. Garrison is survived by her husband, Paul Wayne Garrison, to whom she married on May 30, 1964; two sons, Jeff Garrison and wife Julianne of Carmel, Indiana and Mickey Garrison and wife Renee of Hazel, Kentucky; one brother, Charles Stubblefield of Murray, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Kennedy (Garrison) Fike and husband Landon, Kallie (Garrison) Bohannon and husband Chandler, Layne Garrison and wife Hanna, Kayla (Garrison) Townsend and husband Ryan, Karlyn Garrison, Luke Garrison, Erin Burt, and Brandon Burt; as well as two great grandchildren, Asher and Rowan Fike.
          A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Russ Crosswhite and Clay Riley will officiate, special remarks by her two sons, Jeff and Mickey Garrison, and Pat Marble will lead congregational singing. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
          Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Phillips, Sam Henry, Zach Martin, Mark Farris, Brooks Barton, Jeremy Allbriten, and Josh Sykes.
