Peggy Lynn Vaught, a cherished mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on Friday, June 6th, 2025, at the age of 66 at the Marshall County Hospital. Born on April 12th, 1959, in Celina, Ohio, to the late Bill and Wanda Pyle (Manning), she was known for her kindness, warmth and unwavering love for those around her.
Peggy graduated from Celina High School and built lifelong friendships along the way. She dedicated many years to working at Huffy Bicycles, where her hard work and dedication were truly valued. Later in life, her love for people and passion for helping others led her to the Marshall County Public Library, where she found fulfillment in serving her community.
Peggy had a deep love for baking - a cherished tradition passed down from her mother, Wanda. She also enjoyed quilting and sewing, creating beautiful handcrafted pieces that brought warmth and comfort to those around her.
She loved watching and identifying birds, finding joy in their presence, and kept many feeders to ensure her home was inviting to all types of feathered friends.
Music brought Peggy immense joy, and she found a special connection with the music of Hozier. One of her favorite memories was attending one of his concerts at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. She would often fuse her love for music and gardening by tending to flowers while listening to her favorite songs.
Her greatest joy was her family, who meant the world to her. She is survived by her children, Sarah Vaught of Lone Oak, Kentucky, and Jesse Vaught (Tanna) of Murray, Kentucky; her husband, Tim Vaught of Hardin, Kentucky; her sister, Diana Hellwarth of Celina, Ohio; and her brother, Kevin Pyle (Jenny) of Celina, Ohio. Additionally, she is survived by a host of cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and beloved cousins. Her sweet dog, Addie, of Hardin, Kentucky, will miss her dearly.
Peggy was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Larry Hellwarth of Celina, Ohio; her aunts, lovingly known as The Manning Sisters of Indiana; four uncles; many cousins; friend and neighbor Molly; and her beloved little dog, Kissi.
Peggy had an unwavering commitment to others, always putting the needs of those she loved before her own without hesitation. She rarely worried about herself, always more concerned with the happiness and well-being of her family. She carried the weight of the world with grace, ensuring that her children never had to bear her burdens. Even in her passing, Peggy continued to give - she was an organ donor, offering hope and life to others in need serving as a final reflection of her selflessness and generosity.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Humane Society of Calloway County, 607 Poplar Street, Suite A1, Murray, Kentucky 42071 and New Pathways for Children, PO Box 10, Melber, Kentucky 42069 where her daughter, Sarah, dedicates her time helping children in need. Additionally, those wishing to support organ donation can register through the National Donate Life Registry or their state registry at organdonor.gov
