Lawrence “Alan” Poindexter, 64, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, passed away on August 8, 2026. He was born in Paducah, Kentucky, on October 16, 1961, to Eugene and Syble Poindexter.
Alan will be remembered and cherished by his family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who valued his family deeply.
He is survived by his stepson Jason Farmer; daughter-in-law, Miranda Farmer; grandchildren, Abigail Farmer and Zachary Farmer; brother, James Michael Poindexter; and nephew, James Brandon Poindexter.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Syble Poindexter, and his beloved wife, Susan Poindexter.
His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and loved ones, who will forever cherish the time they shared with him.
A memorial visitation will be held at Sellars Funeral Home in Mt. Juliet, TN, August 27, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 PM, with a celebration of life at 7:00 PM.
There will be a memorial service Friday, August 28, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Reidland Baptist Church, 5559 Benton Rd. Paducah, KY. Inurnment will follow at McMurray Chapel Cemetery, 819 McMurray Rd., Smithland, KY.
