Robert (Bob) E. Culp

Robert (Bob) E. Culp, age 82, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born June 15, 1943, in Paducah, Kentucky, McCracken County, and was lovingly raised by his mother Linda Stokes Paris, and stepfather Clyde Paris.

Robert was a gifted master hair stylist who shared his talent for many years at Teddies Hair Salon in Northfield, Illinois, and Waves Hair Design in Highland Park, Illinois. His creativity, precision, and warm presence made him beloved by clients and colleagues alike.

After he hung up his trusty pair of scissors, he served as a Spiritual Director of Christ Renews His Parish at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and took pride in the many young men he helped mentor.

His later years were spent giving back to his community and being a dedicated public servant, serving as a trustee for the Village of Round Lake Park, Illinois.

He cherished time with his family, delighted in preparing more food than was ever necessary, and was always ready to listen, offer support, and share in the lives of those he loved. He took great pride in decorating his home for Christmas which was one of his greatest joys—an annual tradition he approached with pride, enthusiasm, and a touch of artistry that made the season feel magical.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary; his children Chris (Andrea), Cass (Rose), Cami (Walter), and Carrie (Ryan); twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Diane Gray, and his brother, Michael Culp.

A visitation will be held from 10-10:30am followed by mass at 10:30am on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Libertyville, Illinois.

Robert’s life was defined by devotion—to his family, his faith, his craft, and the simple joys that brought him peace. His legacy of kindness, creativity, and love will continue to shine through all who knew him.
