Tommy (Thomas) Grubbs, our fierce warrior, passed away on May 4th, with his family by his side at Alive Hospice in Nashville, after a two year battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents: Edwin Isaac & Elaine Jansky Grubbs, and sister Sharon Grubbs Sullivan.

He is survived by his wife Lynn, and sons Spencer and Jordan, as well as sister Virginia (Randy) Shidal, brother Jimmy, brother in law Phil (Gay) Suiter, sisters in law Renee' Suiter and Dianne Young, nieces Stephanie Sullivan, Taylor Suiter and Andrea Suiter, and nephews Chris Sullivan, Chris (Jamie Skinner) Shidal, Nicholas Johnson, Jon (Kara) Shidal, and Hunter (Jordan) Grubbs.

Tommy was born on September 23rd, 1960 in Paducah, Kentucky, where he grew up on 32nd Street. He lived a childhood filled with fun, laughter, and nature. He loved animals, people, and motorcycles. Tommy graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School in 1978. He had a strong work ethic, and purchased his first car by the age of 14. Any teenager who spent time at Pizza Inn in the late-seventies would certainly recognize him as a familiar face as you walked in.

He met the love of his life while working at McBride Interiors. He moved to Nashville to begin a career in sales, and after two years of dating, married Lynn, who then followed him to Nashville.

Tommy worked in sales with Fujifilm, Kringle Office Products, Capital Systems, Danka, ADP, Oracle, Success Factors, and SumTotal Systems before starting his own company-Executive Logistics, LLC. More recently, he merged with Ted R Sanders Moving & Storage before retiring once he was diagnosed with cancer.

Along the way he won many recognitions and rewards, including trips to Mexico, The Carribean, London, France, Hawaii, and Monte Carlo. He loved cars, golf, travel, sports, side-by-sides, wine, the Kentucky Wildcats, and most of all his friends and family.

A colorful celebration of life will be held in Nashville on May 18th at the Loveless Barn behind the Loveless Cafe. Visitation will be from 4-6pm, and a service and celebration will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Vessel Training Co. LLC for philanthropic activities. Please reach out to team@vesseltrainingco.com to coordinate all donations.
