Murray advances to state football finals; Tilghman season ends

Paducah Tilghman and Murray High School both faced formidable undefeated opponents in the semifinal round of the Kentucky state football playoffs.

The still-undefeated Murray Tigers held off the Lloyd Memorial Juggernauts 27-20 at Erlanger.

Murray (14-0) will meet Christian Academy of Louisville (14-0)  for the Class 3A state title.

In a rematch of last year's 4A state title game, Paducah Tilghman came up short on the road against Franklin County, 21-14.

Tilghman ends its season with a record of 12-2. Franklin County (14-0) will face Boyle County (13-1) for the Class 4A state title.
