Rent One Park unveiled the name and the look of southern Illinois' new Prospect League collegiate baseball team on Thursday at a "Big Reveal Party" at the stadium.

The Thrillville Thrillbillies will take the field in late May for their inaugural season. The roster will be made up primarily of local college players in the wooden-bat league.

Hundreds of fans who came for the announcement received a free ticket to opening night, and also got the first crack at new caps and t-shirts now available. Season tickets are also on sale.

After more than 7,000 votes last year, Thrillbillies came out on top over the other finalists:  Angry Beavers, Monkey Rats, Swamp Foxes and Fungi.

The Prospect League is comprised of 18 teams that will play 60 games from late May to early August. Nearby Prospect League teams include Cape Girardeau, O'Fallon, Jackson, TN and Terre Haute, IN.

Rent One Park was built for its previous team, the Southern Illinois Miners, who played in the independent Frontier League from 2007-21.
