Atmos begins replacing steel gas pipes in Paducah

Atmos Energy is about to begin a project to replace over a mile of gas lines in the city of Paducah.

The existing steel pipes will be replaced by 6,100 feet of high density polyurethane pipes at a cost of $669,000.  Also, some 44 lines from streets to houses will be replaced.

The work will take place in the following areas:

-Maple Avenue fromHC Mathis Drive to Dead End West

-HC Mathis Drive from Cairo Road to Maple Avenue

-HC Mathis Drive from N 10th Street tp US 41

-North 10th Mt. Siani MB Church West to Dead End

-Estelle Street from Maple Avenue to US 45

-Elmwood Ave. from Helen Street to HC Mathis Drive

The work is scheduled to begin immediately and be completed by the end of September.
