Benton man charged with shoplifting from Family Dollar

A Benton man was arrested for shoplifting

Calvert City Police said an officer responded last week to the Family Dollar in reference to a complaint about a shoplifter who had already left the store.

The officer watched the video and was able to identify the suspect as 33-year-old James R. Streit.  A criminal summons was obtained and the same officer received a call Friday about a suspicious male in the area of US 62/641 that matched the description of the shoplifter.  

The officer located Streit on US 62 and served him with a Marshall County criminal summons for theft by unlawful taking.
