A Cairo man was arrested in connection with a shooting incident Wednesday morning at Kentucky Oaks Mall.
Paducah police said 37-year-old Anthony Williams was involved in an argument in the food court area of the mall which escalated into a physical confrontation outside.
Williams went to his car and got a handgun, then fired at the man he had been arguing with before fleeing the scene.
Officers located Williams' vehicle minutes later on Cairo Road and stopped it at H.C. Mathis Drive and 14th Street.
Williams and a female passenger were inside the vehicle. He was arrested and the handgun was located in the vehicle.
The passenger was interviewed and released.
Williams is charged with attempted murder, five counts of wanton endangerment, and drug offenses.
Investigators have no evidence that anyone was struck by gunfire, but the investigation is continuing.
