Calvert woman arrested after drugs found in a purse she left behind

A Calvert City woman was arrested Friday after a purse she left behind was found to have drugs in it.

Marshall County Sheriff's deputies found a purse that reportedly belonged to 39-year-old Lori Vaughn. As they were trying to confirm the identity of the owner, they looked inside and found drugs in the purse. Further investigation also revealed a warrant for Vaughn out of Graves County for contempt of court after she allegedly failed to pay fines.

Vaughn was arrested on the warrant and taken to the Marshall County Detention Center. There, jail staff also found additional controlled substances stashed on her person. 

Vaughn was charged with the warrant, trafficking and possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, and promoting contraband.
