Cannon withdraws candidacy for McCracken County Commissioner District 1

One of the candidates fo a seat on the McCracken Count Fiscal Court has withdrawn his candidacy.

In a social media post Tuesday evening, Greg Cannon announced he will not seek the commission seat in District 1.

Cannon said after ten years as Planning and Zoning Administrator, this past week he was promoted to Planning and Community Development Manager.

Cannon added the new position allows him to continue to work daily to improve the community and allows the chance to pursue ways to address some of the issues he hoped to address if elected, such as the lack of power back up for emergency sirens and possible ways to expand the county park system.

Cannon would have faced incumbent Bill Bartleman in this year's election cycle.
