A Cape Girardeau man was injured and a portion of a Graves County roadway was closed about four hours following a traffic accident Tuesday.
The Graves County Sheriff's Office said the accident occurred around 9:15 am on KY 339 South at the intersection of Johnnie Road, about four miles south of Fancy Farm and just north of Dublin.
A flatbed delivery truck operated by 25-year-old Jakob C. Sharp of Cape Girardeau was southbound hauling a load of bagged herbicide on pallets.
He dropped of the shoulder and over corrected to the left. The vehicle then ran off of the opposite shoulder and struck two mailboxes and a stop sign then rolled over coming to rest on its roof.
Sharp was able to crawl out of the truck before first responders arrived. He was treated at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
Numerous bags of the herbicide were spilled on the roadway and in a yard at the intersection. Deputies were not able to clear the scene until after 1 pm.
