The home is a dream come true for first-time homeowner and long-time Fulton resident, Ruby Burton. She is the owner of only the second new residence built in Fulton since 2008.
The home was built through a partnership called Community Ventures. It's a partnership with the City of Fulton, the City of South Fulton, Fulton County, Fulton County Detention Center, and the Fulton-Hickman Counties Economic Development Partnership.
The group celebrated the completion of the first CV-financed and developed home built in Fulton, just four months after they broke ground on the project.
“This home marks a significant milestone in our mission to revitalize Fulton,” said Community Ventures’ Disaster Recovery Specialist Tammy Nesler. “Ms. Burton is a devoted community member known for her volunteer work and active involvement in community projects. Her passion for positively impacting her community resonates with CV’s vision of building a stronger, more vibrant Fulton.”
“I was scared to step out of the box, but Community Ventures talked to me, explained it step by step,” said Burton. “Not having to try to do this all by myself helped me a whole lot. I hope others in my community will see my home and decide they want to own their own home, too.”
