The McCracken County Sheriff's Office was called to the scene st John E. Robinson Avenue and Delaware Avenue just after 2:30 when investigators say a vehicle operated by 70-year-old Peggy Thompson of Paducah was attempting a left turn from Robinson Avenue striking a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Brittney Shumpert also of Paducah which was on Delaware Avenue.
Shumpert was transported to a local hospital for non-incapacitating injuries.
Traffic around Lone Oak Intermediate School was disrupted for approximately 45 minutes as emergency personnel worked to remove the disabled vehicles .
