The National Weather Service office in Paducah says that onfidence is growing in seeing some impacts of wintry weather on Monday night, but uncertainty still remains in the precipitation type and where it will track.

With temperatures well above freezing, we avoided the threat of winter weather on Saturday. But chilly, below average temperatures will continue into next week, and weather models increasingly show that another system will bring a potentially impactful wintry mix of snow, sleet, and/or freezing rain to most or all of our area Monday night through Tuesday morning.

Various weather models are coming up with different scenarios that lean toward more freezing precipitation, while others point to a "drier" result with mostly snow.

Meteorologists at the Paducah office say, at least for now, the latest forecast shows about 0.5-1.5" of snow across the entire region and a light glaze of ice across southern parts of southeast Missouri into far southwest Kentucky.

Dry and chilly weather is forecast for the middle of next week, with a small chance of mainly rain returning to the forecast on Friday.
