KY 121 open in Calloway County after crash involving crane, SUV

A crash involving a crane and passenger vehicle blocked traffic for about 3 hours along KY 121 in Calloway County on Tuesday.

Calloway County Fire Rescue and the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office were called to KY 121 and Cypress Trail where they found the crane rolled on its side, blocking the road, and a small SUV heavily damaged just off the road. Investigators believe the SUV was stopped on a side road waiting to turn onto KY 121 when it pulled into the path of the crane.

The collision caused a lot of damage to the two vehicles, but fortunately, the injuries were minor. One person was taken to Murray–Calloway County Hospital to be checked out.

The road reopened about 7 p.m.
