The Crittenden County Sheriff's Office is investigating complaints about an unauthorized individual stopping vehicles and conducting traffic stops in Crittenden County.
On Monday afternoon the sheriff's office posted about complaints dating back to August 5.
The department described the individual as a male 55-60 years of age, wearing a black polo shirt with a badge resembling a law enforcement badge and carrying a handgun in a holster on his side. He operated a black Dodge Charger with blue lights and a siren.
The Crittenden County Sheriff's office said that they do not own or operate a black Dodge Charger, and the man was not authorized to act on the behalf of the department.
They said the subject has been identified and has charges pending, but they still ask for the public's assistance. If you or someone you know was stopped or detained in Crittenden County by a man fitting this description, please contact the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office.
