The extreme cold warning is officially in effect through Tuesday morning, but arctic air will remain in place over the quad state, including another surge later this week.
Frigid temperatures and overnight/morning wind chill readings from -10 to -20 will continue through Tuesday morning.
Light winds overnight Tuesday night and Wednesday night will keep wind chills closer to the actual temperatures of zero to 5 degrees.
Another surge of cold air for Thursday night into Saturday morning along with higher winds could bring wind chills back down into the -5 to -15 range.
There is potential for slightly warmer temperatures Sunday, but readings will still be well below normal.
