An investigation into illegal drugs being shipped to a Mayfield address led to the arrest of a Mayfield man Thursday.
The Graves County Sheriff's Department said Friday approximately 13 pounds of high-grade processed marijuana was intercepted from a nationwide shipping company. The package was addressed to an apartment located within the Windhaven Apartment Complex in Mayfield and was being shipped from a location within the state of California.
As part of the investigation, a controlled delivery was made to the address 409 Windhaven Thursday at around noon. The suspect 63-year-old Steven P. Truelove took possession of the package. When confronted by sheriff's detectives, Truelove was found to be in possession on his person a quantity of crack cocaine.
Truelove was arrested on charges of possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The marijuana shipment remains under investigation.
He was taken first to the Graves County Sheriff's Office then to an out of county detention center.
