A former circuit judge for Calloway and Marshall County is facing five traffic offenses, including reckless driving following a stop in Marshall County earlier this month.

The Murray Sentinel reported Monday that former judge Jamie Jameson was driving a vehicle on Aurora Highway in Hardin just before 9 pm on October 1st when a Marshall County sheriff's deputy pulled up behind Jameson's car at a four way stop.

According to the citation, the deputy was traveling directly behind Jameson's vehicle when it stopped at the intersection. After clearing the stop sign, Jameson accelerated rapidly and continued gaining speed as the deputy tried to catch up.

The deputy reported reaching approximately 100 mph before getting directly behind Jameson's car.

After catching up with Jameson, the deputy activated his emergency lights and stopped Jameson farther down Aurora Highway. The citation lists Jameson's speed as 90 mph in a posted 35-mph zone.

Jameson could not provide proof of insurance or registration paperwork for the vehicle, It was also noted Jameson's vehicle displayed a December 2023 registration sticker, but dispatch could not locate a matching license plate or vehicle identification number.

Jameson was charged with speeding 26 mph or more over the speed limit, reckless driving and other traffic offenses.

The charges came just three days after Jameson was found guilty of speeding 25 mph over the limit in a school zone in a separate Marshall County case.

Jameson served as circuit judge for the 42nd Judicial Circuit from January 2015 until November 2022, when the Kentucky Judicial Conduct Commission removed him from the bench after finding him guilty of seven counts of judicial misconduct.

The decision came four days before the general election, which Jameson lost. Two year ago, the Kentucky Supreme Court upheld his removal while reversing some of the misconduct findings.

Jameson is currently a private practice attorney in Murray.
