A fuel tanker crashed on Saturday afternoon in the Reidland area.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said they were called to Said Road at Stone Creek Place off Reidland Road just after 1 p.m. for the single-vehicle crash. The semi tanker, driven by Jammie Hawkins, of Bartlett Tennessee, was headed south on Said Road when the tires dropped off the pavement. Investigators said that the weight of the truck prevented the driver from getting it back on the road.
The truck eventually rolled onto its side and struck a power pole in front of a home. Fuel from the tanker spilled into the home's front yard. The road had to be closed for several hours while the spill was cleaned up and power restored.
The driver was not injured.
